It’s no secret that the average lawyer loves a good joke with a good drink.
Often, it can be too much. But, assuming you have it under control and it’s purely recreational and fun, imbibing can be a good way to relax with friends. Whether you’re having a casual get-together with a lawyer-heavy crowd “just because” or you’re celebrating your cousin’s law school graduation, themed cocktails are a lot of fun. Try one or all of these!
- 1 3/4 oz white creme de cacao
- 1 3/4 oz maraschino liqueur
- 1 3/4 oz dry vermouth
Shake ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Strain into a cocktail glass.
The Lady Lawyer Cocktail

- 1/2 oz ginger liqueur
- 1 oz. American dry gin (such as Dry Fly, Green Hat or Aviation gin—or a combination)
- 4 oz fresh lemonade
- Mint sprig (garnish)
Add the mint leaves and ginger liqueur to a cocktail shaker and muddle. Add ice, gin, and lemonade. Shake until well mixed and cold. Strain into a rocks glass with ice. Garnish with a mint sprig.

The Ruth Bader Ginger Cocktail
- 4-6 ice cubes
- 3 oz dark rum
- 1 oz ginger liqueur or brandy
- 2 tsps orange juice
- 2-3 pinches ground cardamom
- 2 slices of orange
- 2 mint leaves, slightly crushed
Place two to three ice cubes in each of two glasses. Place the rum, brandy, orange juice, and cardamom in a cocktail shaker or glass jar. Shake vigorously and pour equal amounts in the two glasses. Twist the orange slices slightly to extract a few drops more of orange juice into the liquid, then place the slice on the rim of each glass. Place one slightly crushed mint leaf in each glass, stir, and serve.
Enjoy with other lawyers!
